Meaning and use
Frequency adverbs tell us how often something happens. Always means every time; never means at no time. Usually, often, and sometimes describe habits between those extremes without giving an exact percentage. Put these adverbs before most main verbs: I usually walk. Put them after be: She is always kind. Sometimes can also appear at the start or end of a sentence. Never already has a negative meaning, so do not normally combine it with don’t or doesn’t in standard English.

|---|---|---|
| She is always be kind. | She is always kind. | Is already supplies the form of be. Put always after is; do not add another be. |
| He doesn’t never drink coffee. | He never drinks coffee. | In standard English, never already gives the negative meaning; use the positive verb form drinks here. |
