ប្រើ present simple សម្រាប់ទម្លាប់ ការពិត និងស្ថានភាពដែលកើតឡើងជាប្រចាំ។

Meaning and use

Use the present simple for things you do regularly, general facts, and situations that are true now rather than just at this moment. With I, you, we, and they, use the base form of an ordinary verb: I work. With he, she, it, or a singular name, the verb usually adds -s or -es: She works. Be is different: use am, is, and are. Do not add am, is, or are before an ordinary verb just to make a present-simple statement.

Present simple ប្រើសម្រាប់ទម្លាប់ ការពិត និងស្ថានភាពទូទៅ។ ជាមួយ I, you, we និង they ប្រើកិរិយាសព្ទទម្រង់ដើម។ ជាមួយ he, she និង it ជាទូទៅបន្ថែម -s ឬ -es។ កុំបន្ថែម am, is ឬ are មុខកិរិយាសព្ទធម្មតា ដើម្បីបង្កើត present simple។

Grammar patterns

Habit or routine	We walk to school every day.
General fact	The sun rises in the east.
Be uses its own present forms	I am a student. She is a teacher.

Examples

1. I study English every day.

   ខ្ញុំរៀនភាសាអង់គ្លេសរាល់ថ្ងៃ។

2. We live in Cambodia.

   យើងរស់នៅប្រទេសកម្ពុជា។

3. They play football on Sundays.

   ពួកគេលេងបាល់ទាត់នៅថ្ងៃអាទិត្យ។

4. She works at a school.

   នាងធ្វើការនៅសាលារៀនមួយ។

Everyday conversation

Dara: What do you do every morning?

Maly: I walk to school.

Dara: What does your brother do?

Maly: He takes the bus.

Common mistakes

Instead of	Use	Why
I am study English every day.	I study English every day.	An ordinary present-simple statement does not need am before study.
They plays football.	They play football.	Use the base form play with they.
