Writing focus

A process paragraph explains how to do something. Begin with the goal, arrange the steps logically, and use sequence words where they help. An instruction commonly uses a base verb with an understood you. Include necessary conditions, but do not hide essential steps in a vague final sentence.

Model writing

Here is a simple way to review a lesson. First, read the main explanation and study the examples. Next, close the answers and try the practice questions. Then, compare your work with the explanations. Finally, write one new example using the lesson’s main idea.

Common mistakes
